Paul's quarrel is not with academic philosophy per se, nor is it with anyone who drafts persuasive and learned arguments to advance the gospel truth.
Paul himself is well educated in these matters and often appeals to philosophical ideas and uses sophisticated arguments to explain the gospel more effectively (see Acts 17:16-34). Rather, Paul opposes those whose learning is used to advance falsehoods as gospel truth. This is common today as it was in the past. He opposes any philosophy devoid of Christ that claims to teach about the spiritual order of God's creation and reign.
The case can be associated with adaptation into the former neo platonic forms in theology and form , or the means by allegories the scriptures to make them say whatever we want. Or the form of self appointed hierarchy, and the changes made to scripture dealing with primary terms for the man's elevation.
Mistakes and reason for his rebuke than as it is now.The early body was getting caught up in starting to follow the speakers, this is sophistry in action and a form of idolatry by those following others based on their ability to express themselves well.Servitude is lost in an entertainment based religion.
The priesthood of all believers requires the personal responsibility to investigate and test what we hear or say to others to make sure the truth is spoke. or heard.God as a Spirit revels the false hoods from the truth in us to determine the truth from error. The ministry was not a career based occupation but servitude. thanks
