Galatians 4:15 "Have you lost your joy? Paul sensed that the Galatians had lost the joy of their salvation because of legalism as was the works of the Spirit. I felt addressing a few pointers to escape.
The life of faith is not dedicated to telling oneself how unable they are but able to be bold in Christ Led of the Spirit, Faith takes hold of going through whatever and sees an end even though our rational says otherwise, I think that gets confused a lot because condemnation paralyzes the Holy Spirit's lead by second guessing our relationship with doubt. A double minded man goes no where says James. I think that's the point in the intent of the condition once it gets out of hand it;s fruitless.
Legalism can take away joy because (1) it makes people feel guilty rather than loved;
(2 self-hatred rather than humility take over, a false humility;
(3) It stresses performance over relationship;
(4) It points out how far short we fall rather than how far we have come, the bell article we have defines an alternative antidote to unawareness. This was the purpose of our bell to show what we become rather than who we;re not, it;s flip flop from bondage into hope because of what Christ did for us.
A few pointers , may joy abound it does here. If you feel guilty and inadequate, check your focus. Are you living by faith in Christ or by trying to live up to the demands and expectations of others?" This is something I avoid in street ministry, the night for me becomes a place of unpredictable faith and joy. Note: The book of Galatians is devoted entirely to the subject of legalism. Narrowway. The article from lake side shared with me years back, on maturity, it;s powerful as it is factual.
Thanks
