1 Corinthians 4:20
kingdom of God is not in word—Translate, as in I Corinthians 4:19, to which the reference is "speech." Not empty "speeches," but the manifest "power" of the Spirit attests the presence of "the kingdom of God" (the reign of the Gospel spiritually), in an assembly or in an individual (compare I Corinthians 2:1, I Corinthians 2:4; I Thessalonians 1:5). I added assembly in place of the addition of non- scriptural terms added by those seeking a political institution.
This is key word and often overlooked, The Spirit is the empowering factor which operates without human consent other than out right doubt or the lack of faith, which would hinder or quench his activity leaving those with mere mechanical religion dependant on their self efforts.
The question of awareness and anticipation are key. Thanks
