Spirit led?

“When it is a question of God's almighty Spirit, never say, ''I can't.''” 1 Corinth 12,13,14. Without the Spirit we have nothing .

  1. The  assembly reacted to the excesses of Montanism by quenching the Spirit. This was overreaction and disobedient to the Lord and scripture. Agree
  2. If the organisation continues to exist, the stunted life of its members will give people a wrong expectation of life in Christ.
  3. Our expectations shape our experience.
I don't believe God is obligated to give us everything we "believe" Him for, especially if it is intertwined with selfishness and/or our limited "human logic - human reasoning" (See: Proverbs 3:5-6), thus this scripture reference in Mark 11:24 is not a formula for getting out of God everything we ask Him for.  However ... it is a vitally important spiritual principle, and James 1:5-6 substantiates it).  I think this great statement applied to the theological systems theories a truth well needed in the light of the hard debates etc.Truth!

The manifesting Gifts are not human talents, "Walston "  "they are God the HolySpirit working in us,
working in all his people, when ever he so chooses, not just a every few hundred years, I think frequently is the case it is here the western  version of Christianity slides off the rail and chases the logic part more so to appeal to man's wisdom which was the case in Alexandria with all the allgorism from Plato and Aristotle, which Oragin influenced the early faith, perhaps to much so.

Why the mess in the west is as divided as it is". Some body missing! Narroway

1 Thessalonians 5:19-21 (NIV) says:
Do not put out the Spirit’s fire; do not treat prophecies with contempt. Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil.

  1. Walking in the Spirit, Gal.5:16.
  2. Walking in the light, 1Jn.1:7
  3. Imitating Christ, Eph.5:1; cp. 5:18.
  4. Epistles of Christ ministered by the Spirit, 2Cor.3:3.
  5. Partakers of the divine nature, 2Pet.1:4.
  6. Abide in Me, Jn.15:4,6; 1Jn.2:6; 3:6.
  7. Walking in love, Eph.5:2.  (they are personal),
  1. Effective prayer, Eph.6:18.
  2. Effective witnessing, Act.1:8.
I think much of what been said of the Spirit  is often a few words of acknowledgement without power, the way it was.
  1. The believer asking for the "empowering" of the Spirit, which was always present with the believer, Lk.11:13; cp. Jn.14:17.
  2. Therefore, this is reason for them to not be disturbed as if they are going under some new condition of being alone in the devil's world. As believers positive to the truth, they have never been alone, and are not about to be left alone now. Therefore, they are told, "let not your intellect be troubled, neither let it be afraid", Jn.14:1. Get over the excuses and fear.
  3. The two bases of operation for the Holy Spirit is "along side" and "inside".
This same Spiritual empowering will be poured out on Israel for the purpose of revelation of believers in that new dispensation, Joel.2:28,29

Re quoting Barclay and the others I mention they came with something to bring that's all the body in the Assembly, were able to participate, many were in houses, amen, personal. I avoided the word Church because it was added latter to the text as means of political control, and is not biblical word or term it was added and has background which is unrelated relational function which was far more personal with God and one another in it's very nature, it is not the same sorry.

I like to stress Dr. walston really speaks to the issues dealing with the Spirit's ministry in Cd.  I got to know Rick some time back,  asking a whole series of questions. One of which was  "Jesus says we shall do greater things" is all but missing today, and been re-explained to try cover over the Spiritual stunted state today resulting from the doubt here in the west. Grasping those wonderful blessing, brings joy and hope to seeking heart.

I can't imagine missing such a huge part of the his presence. I would check out the  truth.  A whole other picture emerges when doing so.

Paul warns of this in the divides. it was an entertained alluring appeal of fancy speaker, who speaks best, the Greeks resorted to their  logic and skills in speaking like today, not much has changed. Men became followers of men.

13 However when the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth.3 For he shall not speak of himself, but he shall only speak what he hears; and he will show you things to come. "Discernment"
14 He shall glorify me; for he shall take from me what is mine, and shall show it to you.
Real big difference here than using logic, it requires being connected to the source.

Getting connected:

You may pray for an hour and still not pray. You may meet God for a moment and then be in touch with Him all day. --Fredrik Wisloff

I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had absolutely no other place to go. -- Abraham Lincoln,

Step 2.
“If in preaching the gospel you substitute (your knowledge) of the way of salvation for confidence in the power of the gospel, you hinder people from getting to reality.” Oswald.
