"But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil." - Hebrews 5:14
“The spiritual gift of discernment is also known as the gift of “discernment of spirits” or “distinguishing between spirits.” The Greek word for the gift of discernment is Diakrisis. The word describes being able to distinguish, discern, judge or appraise a person, statement, situation, or environment. In the New Testament it describes the ability to distinguish between spirits as in 1 Corinthians 12:10, and to discern good and evil as in Hebrews 5:14.
When it comes to the gift of discerning spirits, every born-again believer has a certain amount of discernment, which increases as the believer matures in the Spirit. Not philosophy, or any esoteric forms derived from the former pagan systems found nor out of the al chemical wedding from Europe but by faith 1 Corinthians -1-4 kj3 God, through faith. This compassion is especially beneficial in the two examples cited: "the ignorant" and "them that are out of the way." The word "ignorant" points to those who lack a knowledge of scripture, stemming from lack of opportunity, or neglect. Either way, Jesus, our high priest, has compassion upon them.
